Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 July 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the BibleLands game, its online services, and this website. BibleLands is operated by Trenton Metcalfe. By creating an account or playing the game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who may play

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only play with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for activity that happens under your account. Please use a real email address you control, since it is how we reset passwords and reach you about account matters. Tell us promptly at trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to your account. One person, one account: accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

Fair play and conduct

BibleLands is a game people play together, so a few things are not allowed:

  • Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using modified clients, bots, or automation
  • Interfering with matchmaking or ranked play, including deliberate rating manipulation
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other players, or using display names that are hateful or obscene
  • Attempting to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to our servers
  • Reselling access, virtual items, or accounts

If you break these rules we may limit, suspend, or close your account, and reset ratings or collections affected by the behaviour.

Virtual items, cards, and packs

Cards, packs, cosmetic items, and in-game currency are a licence to use them inside BibleLands. They are not your property, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred outside the game. Packs contain randomly selected cards, and the chance of receiving any particular card is set by the game rather than by anything you do. We may adjust card balance, pack contents, and the economy over time to keep the game fair and playable.

Purchases and refunds

Some parts of BibleLands may be bought with real money. Payments are handled by Stripe, or by the store you bought through, and their terms also apply to the transaction.

You may request a refund within 30 days of a purchase by emailing trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com from the address on your account, provided the content bought has not been substantially consumed. Once a pack has been opened, the cards in it have been delivered and that purchase can no longer be refunded. Where the law in your country gives you stronger refund rights, those rights apply and nothing here limits them. Purchases made through Google Play or itch.io may also be refundable under the policies of those stores.

Availability and changes to the game

BibleLands is an online service, so it needs maintenance, and it will change. We may add, alter, or remove features, adjust game balance, or take servers down for updates. We will try to keep interruptions short and to give notice of planned downtime, but we cannot promise the service will be available without pause. If we ever have to close the online service permanently, we will give as much notice as we reasonably can.

Content you create

Display names, deck names, and anything else you type stays yours, but by entering it you give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the game. Keep it appropriate for a game that other people, including younger players, will see.

Our content

The BibleLands name, artwork, card designs, code, and audio belong to us or our licensors and may not be copied, redistributed, or used to make derivative works without permission. Scripture passages quoted in the game are used for their historical and devotional content; the game itself is a work of strategy design and is not presented as a religious authority or as a substitute for reading Scripture.

Ending your use

You may stop playing and delete your account at any time by contacting trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if it is necessary to protect other players or the service, or if we discontinue the game. Deleting your account ends your licence to the virtual items in it.

Disclaimers

The game is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be free of bugs, that matchmaking will always find you an opponent, or that progress will never be affected by a technical fault, though we will do our best to put things right when they go wrong.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost progress, or lost virtual items arising from your use of BibleLands. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Madison County Alabama, and disputes will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game develops. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we will notify you in the game or by email of changes that materially affect your rights. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
