Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information BibleLands collects when you play the game or use this website, why we collect it, and what choices you have. BibleLands is operated by Trenton Metcalfe. If you have a question about anything below, write to us at trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Account information

When you register an account in the game we collect an email address, a display name, and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form, so we never hold or see your actual password.

Gameplay data

To run matches and keep your progress we store data created by playing: your card collection, decks, match results and history, ranked rating, campaign progress, packs earned and opened, and the room codes used for private games.

Purchase information

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and other payment credentials are entered on Stripe systems and are never received or stored by us. We keep only a record that a purchase occurred, what it was for, and the identifier Stripe gives us so we can support and, where applicable, refund it.

Technical and diagnostic data

Our servers record standard technical information needed to operate the service and keep it secure, including IP address, approximate region derived from it, device and operating system type, game version, timestamps of requests, and error or crash reports.

Website data

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set a small number of functional cookies, for example if you leave a comment or sign in as an administrator.

How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account and let you sign in
  • To run online matches, matchmaking, ranked play, and private rooms
  • To save your collection, decks, and campaign progress across devices
  • To process purchases and handle refund requests
  • To detect cheating, abuse, and fraud, and to enforce our Terms of Service
  • To diagnose crashes and improve balance, performance, and stability
  • To contact you about account matters such as password resets or important service notices

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the game, and only to the extent they need it:

  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Hostinger for website and server hosting
  • itch.io and Google Play as the stores that distribute the game, which handle their own download and billing data under their own policies

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the safety and rights of players or of the service itself.

How long we keep it

Account and gameplay data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account and gameplay data, keeping only what we are legally required to retain, such as records of transactions for tax and accounting purposes. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to certain uses, or receive it in a portable form. You can exercise any of these by emailing trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will respond within the time your local law requires, and in any case within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

BibleLands is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at trenton.metcalfe@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Security

We use encrypted connections for all traffic between the game and our servers, store passwords only as hashes, and limit access to player data to what is needed to operate and support the game. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold and will notify affected players if a breach puts their data at risk.

International transfers

Our servers and service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the game or by email if the change materially affects you.
